SUMMARY:A Case for a Mid-Tier Model and a Real Internship System
DESCRIPTION:In the current ABA landscape\, we have seen a steady increase i
 n the need for ABA services throughout the United States. This demand has 
 subsequently driven the need for BCBAs to provide that care. Current infor
 mation says that ~50% of all BCBAs have had their certificate for less tha
 n 3 years.  This indicates that a majority of the workforce is new to the
  field. The Current system for training BCBAs lacks a uniform approach. Th
 is creates disjointed ability levels for newer BCBAs. The added pressure 
 to jump right into a full caseload only exacerbates this problem.\n\nDurin
 g this event\, we will explore the concept of an expanded mid-tier model t
 o allow for more help on BCBA caseloads. Additionally\, we will discuss h
 ow this would allow for a more effective Internship model to better train 
 and prepare future BCBAs thus creating a better experience for the familie
 s we work with. We will take a new look at old problems and explore how sh
 ifting the paradigm could improve quality outcomes.\n\nRegister for this c
