DESCRIPTION:Event Description\nWithin the field of Applied Behavior Analysi
 s (ABA)\, there has not been a lot of discussion around the topic of diver
 sity. Diversity issues have really only been brought to light over the pas
 t few years and it is important to identify areas for improvement within t
 he ABA field. Research has shown that some behavioral interventions may no
 t be beneficial for certain ethnic and cultural minority groups due to the
 ir lack of culturally tailored services. The conversation about Asian Amer
 ican culture is just one small part of the larger picture around diversity
 . This presentation on “ABA for Asian American Clients” will identify 
 several barriers and obstacles for Asian American families when receiving 
 ABA therapy\, teach clinicians how to best adapt ABA interventions to Asia
 n American clients and families\, and provide strategies for designing cul
