What is an RBT?

In the simplest terms, behavior technicians are superheroes in casual clothes! Many have experience in special education, but the Hopebridge team comes from diverse backgrounds to bring a wealth of skills to the role. These therapists work one-on-one with our kiddos to directly implement the ABA treatment plans designed and guided by Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA). Responsible for skill acquisition and behavior modification, they work toward goals of building communication, social interactions, problem-solving and adaptive living skills. Each day provides exciting new challenges and solutions that make a profound impact on the future of our little learners.

Become an RBT with On-the-job Training

Does the role of an RBT sound like a match for you, but concerned you don’t have the right qualifications? If you have a passion for working with kids, a lot of patience and a related degree or experience, we’re looking for you to start with us as an ABA therapist! A background in psychology, pediatric healthcare, special education or social work is especially applicable and provides similar skills and knowledge you’ll use here in the centers.

At Hopebridge, we provide on-the-job, paid training for our ABA therapists to become licensed RBTs to help kick-start their careers in this new role. Training includes education around the principles and procedures of behavior analysis and its strategies for intervention, along with data collection procedures. The 40-hour course, RBT Competency Assessment and RBT exam – of which we sponsor the cost! – can all be completed in a matter of five weeks or less.
